Cape St. Francis

Cape St. Francis is located at the very tip of the Northeast Avalon and forms the the eastern point of Conception Bay. The rocky cape juts far out into the North Atlantic, and contains a light house.

Cape St. Francis Lighthouse

The grounds are open to visitors, but the lighthouse (which has a helipad on the roof) is closed. The scenic area around the lighthouse is a popular area for hikes.

Cape St. Francis is about 25 km north of St. John's. Until recently, the road to Cape St. Francis has not been modernized; however, in 2007, the province invested over one million dollars to improve road access to this scenic area.
